ABOUT US

The Abyssinian Friends Association (AFA) is an indigenous non-governmental, not-profit and independent Association, With a Charity No.11811332 founded on 06 February 2019. The purpose of AFA is to support young people residing in Ethiopian by providing assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities also elderly people. The organization is an UK Resident Charity under the legal supervision of the UK Government Charities and Societies Agency and headquartered in Sheffield, UK.

i). To promote social inclusion for Ethiopians by preventing them from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate in society and sharing their culture with the wider society.
ii). To act as a resource for young people residing in Ethiopian by providing assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of:
(a) advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to fully participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals;
(b) advancing education;
(c) relieving unemployment;
(d) providing recreational and leisure time activities who have need by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to improving the conditions of life of such persons.
